Purchased a domain name. No money left my account. They told me to update me with a simple Email within the first 24hours. Never received it and now I have been waiting for longer than 3 days without feedback or a response.. I hope they do react to their reviews

Massively over priced - one to avoid. 😕

I had been a customer for over 20 years, since they were Simply.com, but after the massive price rises I gradually moved all my customers domains to another provider which was a fraction of their price and had a slicker dashboard.

Back in 2004, Names charged £6.79 for a '.co.uk' - fast-forward to 2024 and they now charge £35.99. That's over 500% price increase. Show me another business that could get away with that - a Mars bar would cost over £5 😂

Anyway, my new provider charges £4.95 (for one year) so had no choice but to leave Names.

I have bought a lot of domains for a lot of customers.

All domain name providers offer basically the same service and are all extensively regulated, so it's up to you how much you want to pay - you get exactly the same end product for your money.

These guys started off so well but, quite simply, became way too greedy.

I purchased a domain, but I never received it.
They took my payment and have refused to provide a refund.
Their customer service is unhelpful and only wastes your time.

If you find yourself in a similar situation, please contact your bank and file a chargeback complaint against this fraudulent company.

Thank you. Liam has been in constant communication to resolve this issue, and I am really grateful for how he dealt with the situation. Initially, I would have rated this company one star due to the behavior of another staff member who was incredibly cheeky and rude, essentially adding fuel to the fire. This person took less than 15 seconds to come to a verdict that was TOTALLY unrelated to the problem I had, claiming that one of my domains violated the account, which is why it was suspended. However, thanks to Lauren and Jamie, my perception has significantly improved.

Lauren, in particular, was outstanding. She managed to make the communication between each department flow seamlessly. Her nurturing approach and professionalism skills ensured that everyone stayed informed and collaborated effectively. Jamie's professional and prompt response further enhanced this effort. He addressed the issue within 12 hours of becoming aware of it, and his manner was exemplary. I appreciate both Lauren's dedication to fostering clear communication and Jamie's swift resolution of the problem.

One of the worst clunky hosting services i have used, it takes 5 times as long to do any normal task, which then the client has to pay my time for. It may be cheap, but then they pay £200+ of time to sort things out. Get good hosting and save the hassle and get a fast site.

RIP off….pay for your domain, then you have to pay to get your mail into your own external mailbox if you don’t want to keep accessing your emails on their site and then you get so much spam in your mailbox that they forcefully make you pay for an upgrade, you don’t have a choice as they suspend your account …wouldn’t recommend 😮😡

I have been using Names for many years and have amassed way too many domains for my own use and for clients. Whilst I the renewal rate are not always the most competitive, I have always found they have always been great when it come to service, be it tech, sales or service and aside from the fact that I would like to see my rates reduced further (wouldn't we all) I am happy to recommend, and indeed do frequently to clients.
