Wir waren heute mit ein paar Kollegen zum Essen hier. Wir hatten den „Table Breaker“ mit brisket, ribs, und anderen Fleischsorten und ein paar Beilagen - alles super lecker! Es gibt eine große Auswahl an verschiedenen Bieren. Der Service war sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Alles zusammen eine ganz klare Empfehlung.

Our first time here. Everyone enjoyed the food. The brisket was quite good as well as the hand cut fries. My son really liked the pulled pork and my wife ordered the half rack of ribs which were great. The corn bread was a bit dry and we weren't given butter. Our table was right next to a window, which made us feel like we were in a fish bowl with the people walking in and out. The inside atmosphere was really good and we enjoyed our experience!

As you drive up and see the large plumb of smoke rising, you just know you’re likely to have a great BBQ experience. And Hoodoo Brown BBQ really delivered the goods. As someone that’s lived in Texas I have an appreciation for BBQ. The problem in other parts of the US is finding good BBQ. Many places brag about how good theirs is but I’m often disappointed. Well, it’s morning in America! Hallelujah, I finally found great BBQ that lives up to the anticipation. Everyone in my group enjoyed their food experience so much that we’re willing to drive 2 1/2 hours again just to come here for another delicious experience. Pork ribs- GREAT! Jalapeño cheese Sausage GREAT++! Brisket grilled cheese- GREAT Brisket burger- GREAT! Sides- Seasoned fries, Apple vinegar slaw- GREAT!
Our only disappointment was we filled up on all this deliciously great food that we had no room left for dessert, which looking at their description was bound to be another incredible experience. Food portions are large so don’t let prices scare you. And servers/ staff were so friendly it truly made our day one to remember. We’ll be back soon!

The wait was worth every second. Hoodoo Brown did not disappoint. We ordered a few meat options and most of the sides just to get a full experience. My favorite was the brisket, tender, juicy, delicious, perfection. The cornbread was so moist, basically a piece of pound cake. My favorite sides were the apple cider slaw and potato salad. Definitely get the special sausage of the day. We tried a blueberry sausage that didn’t disappoint. The overall vibe of the place is very home style. It feels like you were invited over to your neighbor’s house for a get together. Go early and wear your loose pants!

Great place, the pulled pork, brisket, the blueberry -maple smoked sausage was DELICIOUS. Wings were also good.

The wait line was 1+ hour ,please do yourself a favor and reserve your table!! Not plenty space to wait.
Staff was a bit inattentive, didn't took the order as asked, and take a lot of time to accommodate patrons even when tables are free.

Would GO BACK, DEFINITELY. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, I INSIST.

Odd this place doesn’t have a Smokey smell ? Actually the meats have no flavor and are dry. $5 cornbread but no butter. $4 sweet tea but no refills. No BBQ sauce on tables. Very over hyped social media. Complete disappointment!! Threw out my leftovers. Please send me a discount and I’ll try again. Really wanted to love this place.

Good flavor and large portions. Bacon was thick, cooked well and delicious. Fried green tomatoes had a perfect crunch, not at all greasy and tasty dipping sauce. Smoked wings were cooked well and the combination of smoky and buffalo was a nice change from traditional wings. Brisket was great, really tasty crust and moist. Pulled pork was good but a little dry. The meats were served warm, would have been nicer if they were hotter. All sides were good especially the corn bread. Both bbq sauces were good but had no spice. Overall a solid barbecue restaurant. Need to return to try more options.

August 2024 - Driving to Greenwich and passing through Ridgefield, we were surprised to see a genuine barbecue spot alongside the main route firing up their ovens for the day with roaring fire, staff with large shovels, wood cords and pouring smoke from chimneys. I said to my passenger, if that isn't what detects real barbecue I don't know what does. Never pull into a barbecue place if you don't see live smoke coming out. I'll give a pass to owners who maybe make their meats in the morning so if you go by in the afternoon or evening you won't see the smoke pouring out of chimneys, but it's fresh. You'd have to know the restaurant to be sure this was the case.

Driving back north, I suggested to my passenger that if we saw this place preparing their bounty for the day on the way down, we should stop and buy a couple of things to give it a try. He agreed. There it was and we pulled in. The young staff member with the shovel and flames blazing was gone as stoves were banked, but one chef was busy in the back turning all kinds of meat and another was spritzing sausages with a water bottle before closing the lid. This is the real deal.

We decided to get a half pound of pulled pork and a half pound of brisket. These are two things any customer, reviewer, or fellow cook should try to get an idea on how well barbecue is made at a place. I would add ribs, but my own are so good, I don't buy them when I'm out.

Other delectable choices are chicken wings, smoked turkey, sausages, and half chickens. We skipped sides but all standards are here - cornbread, mac and cheese, beans, fries and sprouts. Any of their meat selections are available in a sandwich if you don't want to purchase by weight. They also sell a couple of combination boxes for groups that feature a large sized sampling of their delicacies that come with cornbread.

Desserts are available, too. Stepping inside to take some photos, I saw most of them were sold out for the day, including a cookie dough and banana bourbon cream pie. There is a large casual dining room and a small event room or more simply, a room for a good group of people. Full bar. Decent parking. Takeout window.
