We've used Cloudways since 2016 and they've always been excellent. Their control panel is very easy to use, their online help staff are great and if they can't help immediately, they'll raise a ticket and sort it out. New rolling out of tech can face teething issues but then that's the case for many companies. I heartily recommend their advanced support and their ease of use. Great for agencies with lots of servers and apps.

If Cloudways put in as much effort at solving problems as they do apologising for them, then things would likely work better. Support is always prompt to respond and they will certainly tell you how sorry they are and that they will ensure everything is fixed, but when it comes to addressing the issues, this is a secondary concern.

We've had an ongoing issue with Magento 2 hosting regarding Elastic Search, Indexing and SQL performance for about 2 months. Settings are tinkered with and a sticking plaster applied, but nobody has really bothered to properly review and investigate.

Now after hours if not days of complaining, they are supposed to be finally are looking at things - all that has resulted is an AI generated response of suggestions to look at (including suggestions I'd already raised), rather than doing the work.

Cloudways are very good at applying a thin veneer of cheerful customer service to make it look like something is happening, but you will likely have problems when things start to go wrong and you need some expertise.

Making an edit here, as no way to reply. Cloudways sent the reply below, but failed to see that this has already been ongoing for 2 months. A case a far too little far too late. The reply is typical of the responses I've already had saying we'll investigate and resolve, but nothing ever happens. I'm looking at Nexcess as an alternative to Cloudways, because I simply no longer believer that Cloudways are interested in customer service or resolving issues. I was given a screenshot showing an escalation of one of my tickets by tech support rep, a few bits of info on the ticket, but the most obvious was "last invoice amount" - call me cynical, but why does a technical ticket need an invoice amount if it is not used to prioritise responses? Ironically, we do have one the the larger servers with a hefty price tag per month, but even that doesn't seem to get a response.

I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Cloudways hosting services. During my time with them, I encountered significant issues that culminated when I decided to migrate my WordPress site to another hosting provider.

Firstly, I discovered that my database was corrupted—a problem that originated while hosting with Cloudways. Unfortunately, I only became aware of this issue after the migration, which made it too late to rectify without substantial effort and data loss.

Moreover, the support I received was lacking in both responsiveness and effectiveness. My concerns about security and the database corruption were not adequately addressed, leaving me to resolve critical issues on my own. This was particularly frustrating during the migration process, where timely and knowledgeable support is crucial.

It's also important to mention that Cloudways operates with an Indian team and is registered in Malta with a virtual office setup. This organizational structure seemed to contribute to the support challenges I faced, possibly due to coordination issues or time zone differences. The lack of effective communication and prompt assistance made resolving issues exceedingly difficult.

Overall, my experience with Cloudways was disappointing, especially regarding data integrity and customer support. I would caution others to consider these factors when choosing a hosting provider, particularly if you anticipate needing reliable support during migrations or other significant changes to your website.

Cloudways is the BEST server company I have dealt with over the years. Their customer service is TOP-NOTCH. Every time I have an issue or need assistance they respond in seconds and take. their time to dive deep into my server to figure out a solution. Hamza was the most recent guy I interacted with and he was an amazing customer service tech rep, he was very knowledgeable and gave me lots of different tips on how to optimize things on my end. HIGHLY recommend cloudways to anyone.

I closed down my account due to a massive error from Cloudways. Sadly that wasn't the worst of it. Even with the account closed (so I no longer have any access to anything), they are still billing me. I've lodged ticket after ticket with the promise that it is with "the appropriate team". It's been over a week and my issue has not been resolved but Cloudways has marked my ticket as closed. This is so unethical! Do not give them your credit card details!

I've used Cloudways for years, they're great. If I ever have any issues with a client's website, or the server, I'm straight on support and the issue is always fixed. Never had an issue with downtime, and I've always had amazing feedback from clients where they've said "Our website is much faster with you", that's largely down to Cloudways. I never really understand the negative reviews, part of me thinks it's from their competitors!
