Stay Away After a month, Joshua Cheney, Cascadia Web Services (via UpWork), provided nothing that worked, just an idea, but asked for more money. He stated the entire job would take 5 - 15 hours of work and two weeks to complete. He set the expectations, we agreed to them. He took a month, a month mind you, with nothing close to a completed project, but wanted more money. We were fine with 15 hours of billable time, but he stated he would need a new estimate, suggesting the original estimate was no longer valid. He didn't apologize, at all, for the time delay or lack of completed project, or requiring a new estimate. He then tried to suggest it was our fault for holding him accountable, just like he tries to talk away his commitment and make excuses for his not meeting expectations that he himself made. In business, you should not agree to payment and time-frame, then change both, and not expect criticism. It is perfectly reasonable and rational we were upset. Seeing the excuses he presents do not take away that he failed on each of the terms he presented. In short, it is similar to a car rental company taking a reservation but when you go to pick it up, it's not ready, won't be, and the car rental company makes excuses for not having the car, but wants to upcharge you for a different car available at a later date. This type of issue costs firms and staff time and money, and that is part of the failure here.
