This was truly a waste of time and a heart aching visit. I got bitten by a spider and have been in and out of urgent care and emergency rooms for the last 5 days now. Urgent care doctors have acknowledged this was a spider bite, and instructed me to go to a hospital if my symptoms stayed the same or got worse, as I was fighting the venom that took over about half my leg and took my ability to walk to my full potential.

When I went in to this location of Baylor Scott and white I was impressed at how fast I got seen as it’s an ER and can take a while. That’s about the only good thing from my visit.

The PA that saw me was young and looked fresh out of college. I told her my symptoms (that it literally felt like my bone was rotting from the amount of pain I was in, showed her the photos of this infection spreading all over my legs, the swelling, the fever etc.) she mocked me about my bone pain. The only sentence she even acknowledged was that it felt like my bone was rotting. Over and over she would say “it doesn’t look like bone rot, bone isn’t rotting, this doesn’t seem like bone rot” etc. she ignored every other symptom and only listened to that. She told me she would have to “go read literature” to make sure she was on the right track.

At the end when she told me they were going to do nothing for me, I got upset because I was told to seek further medical attention if nothing got better. She then asked me “well what is it exactly that you were wanting, drugs”
Excuse me?!?! I am a young woman in the middle of college who can barely get around due to a massive infection in my leg I was wanting some medical help to get me better and back to class.

The nurse at the end had the nerve to tell me to come back in two days! Come back in two days after y’all couldn’t help me at my peak? Hell no!!

Do not come here.

By the way the next day (day after) my bite started gushing blood. Thanks for telling me it was nothing when that’s certainly not the case!

Horrible experience I came in with flu symptoms and was taken to the back in a small wait time and given estimate of fees quickly of course but no liquid IV after the nurse stated I was dehydrated and no meds to help with my flu symptoms or to at least help. Still dying in bed trying to force myself to feel better but now going to have to go to another hospital to actually help me.

Came here to see Dr. Ravi cardiology, the front end staff is very friendly. Got called shortly after my arrival, Brenda took my VS, she’s pleasant. But, waited on the Doctor for 45 min. He is pleasant, but 45 mi it’s a long time.

I just walked out of this hospital after over two hours with a bill exceeding $7,500—and it was an absolute joke. First off, the front desk lady could really use a lesson in basic decency. We come in because we’re sick and scared, so how about showing a little kindness and warmth instead of being cold and dismissive? Thankfully, the nurses were great and very caring, but the doctor? He was fine until I mentioned my husband prayed for me—then suddenly, I felt dismissed and ignored.

It’s shocking that working in an emergency room doesn’t seem to require any understanding or respect for a patient's beliefs or experiences. And to make matters worse, they let me leave with stroke-level blood pressure and no medication to address it! All they offered were pain pills, which I declined because they were not what I needed. This is completely unacceptable, and I will be fighting this every step of the way.

This hospital is a disgrace and clearly not a place to get real help when you need it most. Avoid at all costs.

Came to the ER around 2021 with a dystonic reaction to a new prescription I was given. I’ve NEVER had an adverse reaction like this before: my muscles were twitching, my legs were moving on their own, I kept contorting my face, and my tongue wouldn’t stay in my mouth. Needless to say I was pretty terrified, and it was made a whole lot worse when the nurse started accusing me of taking hard drugs and lying about it. When I kept telling her that it was a new prescription she grew more annoyed and eventually threatened to catheter me since I obviously could not give a urine sample in that instance. That’s when my mom took her out of the room and let her know that was not okay. She eventually came back to the room and asked irritatedly why I didn’t just take some Benadryl since this was an allergic reaction. We said obviously we didn’t know what was going on, which is why we came here. Her lack of compassion was astounding, even if I was on hard drugs it is not a nurses job to cast judgement, it’s her job to administer care.

Avoid Dr. Victor Conrado Guerrero, MD if You Struggle with Mental Illness or Disabilities.

Dr. Guerrero’s outdated approach and lack of empathy made my experience with him extremely unpleasant. When I sought help for weight loss, he dismissed my concerns and told me to essentially "pull myself up by my bootstraps" and that he wanted to see me "Huff and puff"- harmful and unrealistic responses, especially for someone managing severe mental health conditions.

Despite meeting all the criteria for weight loss treatment, he resisted my attempts to advocate for myself and was openly rude. He went as far as documenting to my insurance that I "refused to listen" to him as he wrote his words down out loud, and explicitly stated that if insurance denied coverage for a weight loss medication, he wouldn’t help further.

As someone with treatment-resistant schizoaffective bipolar disorder, complex PTSD, OCD, severe sleep apnea, and more, I expected a doctor who would understand the challenges I face daily. Instead, I found someone unwilling to fight for or support me.

If you need compassionate care or a doctor who will advocate for you, avoid Dr. Guerrero. Baylor Scott and White patients deserve better.

Edit: Dec 9, 2024
Baylor Scott and White reached out to me in reply to my experience but I have already submitted my feedback after the incidents occurred in October but there was no response from Baylor Scott and White as their reply is an automated message.

Had pain, shortness of breath, and numbness in limbs for a few weeks and came here and they literally tried to tell me I was having a month long panic attack and tried to inject medication into me and down my throat without even knowing what was wrong (also tried injecting me with a whole bunch of stuff before even taking my blood or knowing what was wrong, I declined until I had an idea of what was wrong). Blood came back perfect, nothing wrong but they still decided i needed a bunch of horrible medication, which was complete bullshit, they were trying to run up the bill for insurance claim scams. I went to get a second opinion and turns out I had a pinched nerve in my neck and had it fixed with an adjustment, no medicine needed. What a joke that place was they are just trying to scam you so they can rack up bills for insurance claims. You're better off going anywhere but here. I also signed paperwork saying my bill was about $300 and then they randomly tried to send me a bill for $2500 more than they said. This place is literally a scam and are full of idiots and thieves. Beware when going here they will scam you and make up fake issues to force you on medication so they can scam insurance companies! Go anywhere but here! Additonally if the doctor Jaismeen Nijjar is assigned to you request a different doctor immediately, she has no clue what she's doing and will just start trying to give you unnecessary treatment so she can scam insurance providers. I can't say it enough, run from this scam hospital!

Actual experience I just had with Dr Ochoa.
Dr Ochoa: “ so what brings you in today?”
Me: “ I’m having severe cramps and no period, it’s a week late.”
Dr: “ are you on your period right now?”
Me: “ no
 it’s a week late.”
Dr: “ oh. Is that normal?”
Me: “ I don’t know. That’s why I’m here.”
Dr: “ well your pregnancy test appeared to be negative, I think.”
Me: “ okay.”
Dr: “ your heart rate is extremely high though. I’m not sure why.”
Me: “ because I have anxiety and a man is touching me”
Dr: “I guess that makes sense. Well, I doubt you’re dying. We can run some blood work if you’d like. Maybe you just have muscle aches or maybe your lungs hurt. Either way you can go home soon. I guess you’re fine.”
Me:” you guess so you don’t know what’s wrong with me?”
Dr Ochoa: “ nope! And I probably never will! Youre probably just cramping due to your period not coming. I don’t know though. Like I said there’s no way I can know anything for certain.”

He left the room immediately after and I ripped my monitors off and quite literally ran out of the hospital. His bed side manner is the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. He acted like a random psychopathic janitor had stolen a dr uniform. I was so creeped out and uncomfortable and I’m actual disbelief that a supposed medical doctor with a PHD was so rude and blatantly clueless .
