I still don't have Internet.F our customer service attempts and still no person. The self install did not work and they want me to pay $80 for someone to come out, when the self install failure was not on my part. I cannot understand how I've yet to have the internet connected in my home, which I've already paid to initiate, and the company is requiring me to pay additional fees already. It's 2025, why in this day and age does a technician need to come to your house to install a modem? This feels predatory, be very careful.

UPDATE: Thank you for responding and confirming why I gave Astound/RCN a one star review. The fees paid at the time of our agreement to initiate services should be the only fees I have to pay in order to initiate services. Predatory. Not only do I not have Internet in my home, I've already received a bill due in two weeks...for services I have yet to receive. Please go to another company.

I would never work with this company again. Over the three years that I had RCN WiFi, my bill would change with little notice or information explaining the increase. The customer service department is a joke. They are uninformed on company policies. I spent 20 minutes talking with a customer service rep, only to connect with supervisor afterwards and be told the complete opposite of what the first rep said. They make promises in order to get you to stay with the service, but will refuse to confirm any of those promises in writing. I was told that “no one in the company has the authority to send you a confirmation email”. There is zero accountability and zero honesty. This is a shady company that you SHOULD NOT trust.

Random price raise with no explaination from the customer service. Worst internet service company I've ever seen. Been on a phone with an agent for over an hour and still couldn't figure out why the price went up. Also refused to refund the difference, never will consider this company anymore

Astound has awesome customer service who respond immediately! Their Technician was outstanding! He did an awesome job expeditiously installing the product. He was friendly and cordial throughout the entire process. He graciously answered all of my questions and did not leave my home until he was sure that everything worked as it should! I am glad I switched carriers

Technician was amazing. Very patient. Explained all options. Dispatcher was very effective with communicating times and arrival of services intervals. Highly recommended.

Internet service was fine, rates increased substantially after initial year offer. When I changed providers they provided a label to return equipment and I shipped through FedEX and confirmed delivery. 3 weeks later Astound charged my credit card $100 for not returning the equipment which was shown as delivered as far as I could see. Bad business practices, would recommend other providers whenever possible.

Combative, unprofessional, and unhelpful customer service. Misinformed about rate change and then wouldn’t refund. Nickel and dime you over small amounts rather than treat you well and foster good relationships. Horrible business model.
