I've been with BWF for just over a month, have to say I'm very impressed. They helped moving all my client websites over to my new server with them and the support is just second to none. I was with AWS before these guys, only regret is that I didn't move over sooner.

I've moved to Big Wet Fish many years ago after being dissapointed by the a few of the "big boys". I have never looked back. I've used them for hobby site and a church site I run. In the past I used them for various schools I taught in. The service is exceptional and after I moved away the schools were able to keep using them with less experienced staff managing the school end.

An expensive misadventure: You need to be a technical whizz to use Big Wet Fish

I paid £179 (inc VAT) for hosting with these guys and I have yet to get my site up and running. That was 10 months ago and emails on and off, over that time , have not given me any joy. It also appears that I need to pay extra for advanced WordPress management (But not sure.).

I have also spent a lot of time pondering their 'help' content. Big Wet Fish was recommended to me because they have excellent support.

They are responsive to emails. And quick. Just not actually very helpful.

I guess I need a little more handholding than they want to give and it's probably my fault because I don't talk tech.

So, consider Big Wet Fish as a business/enterprise solution where techies can talk to techies in their language. Mere mortals should shop elsewhere. (Although I did elucidate my needs and level of expertise early on.)

But I do feel that I paid rather a lot of cash for a service not provided.

Edited after response below (26/08/24): I have forwarded the email exchanges I had with Big Wet Fish from Saturday past, just now to BWF. It is simply not true that I have not been in contact until today, Monday. I attempted to resolve this issue, I reached out, before leaving this review that reflects my experience with this company. I find the insinuating, inaccurate (and slightly petulant) tone of this response rather telling.

I've been with BigWetFish for more than 15 years and have recommended them to so many people. They are brilliant! and their support is second to none. You'll learn their names and they'll fix your issues effectively and quickly. I love their personal hosting style, they really go the extra mile.

I once moved away from BWF to one of the behemoth hosting giants—I was experimenting with paying less—ha! it turned out that I became instantly appalled at the new company's faceless support. I cancelled as soon as possible and returned to Big Wet Fish where I intend to stay.

BigWetFish has provided hosting for multiple wordpress sites for around 15 years, I have had side servers with other companies when I've found a one time offer and just taken advantage but always found that nobody compares when it comes to customer support.

If you're having website issues, you can jump on the homepage, not even login, use the live chat to tell them your problem and it gets fixed, within minutes. Occasionally, with larger tasks, things require a support ticket but they are sorted within a couple of hours. The staff are so friendly and helpful, even if you are being offhand with them due to frustration about your problem, they dont start acting unhelpful, they just work harder and faster. I could never ask for better customer service. Nobody is trying to upsell you and bother you. I dont even think they have a script, thank god!

Whilst BigWetFish is a big company, with thousands of customers globally, the owner, Stephen is available, for support, queries and even friendly chats about servers to all his customers big and small.

Over alot of years with BigWetFish, I have hosted multiple websites and experimented with alsorts of web apps and scripts. I remember it being about £5 a month back then probably 15 years, it's now about £8.50 a month. That's commendable!

At BigWetFish, you are important. Your website is with people who care. No query is too much or too little for their incredible support staff. The servers are ready to go with ALL the features you need and it's fast too!

A clients site was moved to Big Wet Fish new Hosting Stack and increased page load time by 80-90%. I was totally blown away by just how fast the site loaded. It is a huge site with lots of images, videos and Page flip books. Everything loads instantly.
