I've followed up with "Shawn" from Webnames Support regarding their auto-renew policy to charge their customers 30 days in advance to no avail. I have 4 domains I didn't want but forgot to change them from auto-renew to manual. Similar level companies that I've researched so far have policy not to charge until the day they expires which I believe would be appropriate given I've been a customer about 14 years with no issues. The response I've received so far amounts to "other companies do it too" which isn't a valid point. Given there is no actual "product" being shipped, that I was in touch less than 5 hours after charge was made, the length of time I have been a customer, and the fact that the service I'm being charged for isn't due for 30 more days AND THAT I DON'T WANT IT (I'm paid up until then happily), I think these current charges could be dropped. The policy seems to be more oriented towards protecting customers, but in my case I'm unhappy about it. I've emailed Webnames Support all this info and more.

There are a lot of cheaper providers out there, but the support service from webnames is INCREDIBLE! You are not chatting with bots, but with knowledgeable and helpful staff, and that makes a massive difference!

Webnames is awesome and their support is excellent (all the techs). Alan spent an hour on the phone with me to work out a complex migration and cleanup old accounts. You won't get that kind of support @ Godaddy. I am moving all my domains to them now. My only complaint is they don't offer 24/7 support.

I originally gave a 1 star and bad review and have changed it. I have since spoken with customer support, and I admit I was wrong. Great support, great price, and it's nice to do business with a Canadian company. Once i was able to speak with someone, they helped me out right away, and educated me on what the problem was, and how to avoid it in the future.

They just have the best service. You never wait on hold, the support people are so knowledgeable and they always find solutions for every situation I've ever needed help with over the course of 5 years. Just migrated a domain from GoDaddy and it was super easy. Sorry it took so long to review, but keep up the good work!!
