I highly recommend Mythic Beasts. Over the past decade I've used their products for several freelance web programming projects and have always found them friendly, knowledgeable, reliable and extremely efficient. When urgent problems come up they always respond promptly, even if the culprit turns out to be incredibly obscure.

A previous hosting provider I used had a nasty trick of increasing prices for existing customers once they were "locked into" their products. That simply never happens with Mythic. Long-standing customers pay the same prices (or less) than new customers.

I've been with Mythic Beasts for about 10 years for email and hosting. I've found them good for experimenting with new technologies and trying out ideas. Their pricing structure makes it easy to dip a toe into the water (such as a raspberry pi in the cloud), and if it's not of interest, take it out and move on. I've had a virtual machine with Mythic for a few years ago - although when I decided to sign up I wasn't even really sure what one was.

The biggest plus about the company for me is the non-scripted support channel. Bad telephone support is worse than no support at all and Mythic Beasts don't do it. Just send an email to their support address and a real person with technical knowledge will respond. In these scripted call-centre days this is pretty refreshing.

I have been using Pete and team at Mythic Beasts for over 10 years to host a personal dedicated server, domain registrar, name server and mail relay services, etc, as well as using them at work and with volunteer projects for more complicated setups as well. They are real "geek's geeks" and are very happy to get their teeth in to technical problems, or to quietly get on with running things for you if you prefer a professional and fully managed service. They are prompt at responding, generous with their time in resolving issues, flexible at how to solve your problems, and entirely reasonably priced with clear and predictable fees.

Migrated all my hosting over to Mythic Beasts based on recommendations from other customers, when other providers increased prices and dropped services, or I just got tired of running things myself. Currently have domain registration, DNS, mail and shell hosting with them. Zero problems over the years I have been with them and support is top-notch. It is extremely refreshing to have your support request answered quickly by someone who a) isn't reading from a script, b) clearly knows what they are doing and c) understands that I also know what I am talking about. I only hope that they can maintain that level of genuinely *technical* support as they grow.

I've been hosted by Mythic Beasts for 5 years (after seeing how they supported the Raspberry Pi Foundation). They are technically adept, with very responsive customer support, and a wide range of services (shared hosting, VPS, colocation). You can even rent a Raspberry Pi from them. They are the only people I've seen who offer a discount if you can demonstrate that you are technically adept too!

Innovative offerings. Straightforward ways to manage your server, websites, domains and VMs. It all just works. Deeply security knowledgeable and privacy/GDPR conscious.
